Holy Invasion of Privacy Coming to PSN today!

by on Jul.16, 2009, under PSN, PSP

Some time today, Sony will be updating the US Playstation Store with new goodies for us to download.  One of the titles coming today is Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman!  If you haven’t had the chance to, visit the Playstation Store and check out the demo released a few weeks ago.  I personally found it very fun and strategizing how the eco system of my dungeon was going to operate and fend off heroes was quite addicting.

Gran Tourismo PSP – Q and A

by on Jul.16, 2009, under PSN, PSP

Some questions posted on the PSN Blog were answered by the producers of GT PSP. Dialogue below…

Could we expect any compatibility of Gran Turismo PSP with Gran Turismo 5 (like Resistance: Retribution with Resistance 2)? – TRIX_BOL

Polyphony has always pushed the hardware boundaries of every console it’s been released on…and while this isn’t really answering your question, it does leave it open for you to imagine the possibilities.

Is GT PSP going to have DLCs (such as new cars, tracks, etc..)? – TRIX_BOL

We’re planning on having 800+ cars right out of the box, which is pretty much a lifetime’s worth of racing (I’m still unlocking cars from GT4). With that sort of breadth and reach of options, having DLC would be like tossing water into the ocean.

Will cars get damaged on GT PSP? – TRIX_BOL

Damage? No. 800+ cars, 35 tracks, on-the-go awesomeness, and a lifetime’s worth of racing, yes.

Will we see Porche, Lamborghini in the PSP version? – wbrinkman

Our car selection is pretty broad — there is a lot of candy, that’s for sure — but as far as flavors, you’ll just have to wait a bit more.

Will there be a downloadable demo of Gran Turismo for the PSP? – grashopper

We wish we can provide one, but at this time, there are no plans. We are focusing our efforts on Gran Turismo and GT5.

It appears that the AI car count is 3 cars on track. Counting you, there would be 4 cars in the race. Wouldn’t it have been better to drop the framerate of the game from 60 to 30 and increased the car count? – grashopper

We went through many experiments but came to the conclusion that having three opponents gives you the best portable racing experience while maintaining the Gran Turismo level of quality.

Cmon fellas…GT5 Prologue update? Eh, eh? Custom soundtracks? Maybe trophies, a lobby system? Screenshot function? – FoomMan

Sorry FoomMan, we’re around the bend and down the straight: the team’s main focus at this point is making sure GT PSP (and GT5) are in your hands.

Wagic, Magic the Gathering 0.7.1 Released

by on Jun.17, 2009, under Homebrew, PSP

Wololo has released an update to Wagic, Magic the Gathering.  If you haven’t guessed yet, Wagic is Magic The Gathering for your PSP.  Boasting over 2100 cards, a card store, and an AI to play against, this is a must have for any MTG Fan…

    Here is the changelog:

  • Wagic now has more than 2100 cards, including 500 new cards from the 10th Edition, Alara Reborn, Shards of Alara, Urza’s saga, Revised, Ice Age, Ravnica, Shadowmoor, Legends…remember that you can get more sets from the community at http://wololo.net/wagic
  • Counterspells finally work! Blue decks now get all their power back. Plus, the AI doesn’t complain if you keep counter its spells and play the bad guy :)
  • Improvements in the Shop: Sets that have more than 80 cards now offer boosters (the minimum was 100 in previous releases), the shop tells you how many cards of a given name you already own, so that you don’t buy more than necessary
  • New parser keywords: “lord” now works until end of turn for instants and sorceries, fizzle keyword (for counterspells), stack is now a valid zone for targets, library is now a valid zone for targets, damage all, move all, discard (random), deplete, rampage
  • Zip file support for images. More info here
  • Translation system. Wagic is now available in french and german (thanks Aco), and, of course, in english. This is experimental, and will be improved depending on the success of this feature. See Res/lang/Readme.txt for more info. If you can translate Wagic in another language, feel free to do so and contact me. Currently this only supports latin 1 languages though, but if a coder wants to dig in and help us with font issues for other languages, let me know.
  • The main menu shows you various stats about your decks
  • 4000 cards limitation has been removed.
  • AI Decks now get a name and a description
  • Libraries can finally be searched (think Diabolic tutor)
  • Performance improvements in the Deck editor and the shop for people with huge collections
  • Sleep mode doesn’t crash the PSP anymore (thanks orine)
  • Various Bug fixes (Momir Basic crash with too much mana, Shroud for cards in hand or in the graveyard, …)
  • Cards Bug fixes (Arcanis the Omnipotent, Cancel, Counterspell, Heartcage Giant , Northern Paladin, repulse, Restrain, Shadowfeed, Skyshroud Vampire, Soothing Balm, Spell blast, Strength of unity, …)
